Baseball Preview: Colonial Grenadiers vs. Freedom Patriots
Colonial hasn't had much luck against Freedom recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Grenadiers will challenge the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Colonial was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wekiva on Monday. The Grenadiers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 15-3 win. The Grenadiers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom). Everything went their way against Lake Buena Vista on Monday as they made off with a 16-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now won five in a row.
Nolan Kliegl made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kliegl was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Juan Pablo Gatica was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
