It was a good run, but Maplewood unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against the Newton Falls Tigers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rockets have suffered since September 22nd.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20, 25-17.

Torrie Fanton had a dynamite game For Newton Falls., getting 14 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Fanton has posted over her last eight matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Karsen Gazda, who had 13 digs and one assist.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Newton Falls, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Coming up, Maplewood will welcome Windham at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Newton Falls, after both having extra time off, they and United will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
