Softball Game Preview: Hurricane Tigers vs. Dixie Flyers

For the second straight game, Hurricane will face off against Dixie. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Flyers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hurricane is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Hurricane took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Dixie by a score of 11-7. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Flyers: they've now won five in a row.

Hurricane got a massive performance out of Addi Lauritzen, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Lauritzen a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Ruby Seely, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Hurricane hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

With the defeat, Dixie broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-14. As for Hurricane, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
