Baseball Recap: Hackley Takes a Loss

If Hackley was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Trinity on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets came up short against the Fieldston Eagles on Monday, falling 9-1. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Hackley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Fieldston, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hackley will take on rival Dalton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Fieldston is set to face off against their familiar foe Horace Mann at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.7, the Lions 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
