Eisenhower hadn't done well against Jurupa Hills recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Spartans 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Spartans on Wednesday, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Viggo Sahagun tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, Derek Mendoza was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Alex Chocoza was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

With the victory, Eisenhower broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-11. As for Jurupa Hills, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-5 record.

Coming up, Eisenhower will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Colton at 3:45 p.m. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jurupa Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carter at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
