Basketball Recap: Community Baptist Christian Takes a Loss

Community Baptist Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Suburban Christian Crusaders 74-41. The Cougars were down 61-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Community Baptist Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Daviea Jones went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleman Hogberg, who posted five points.

Suburban Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Carter out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Chad Glover was another key player, going 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points and four steals.

With the defeat, Community Baptist Christian broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3. As for Suburban Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Community Baptist Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-35 loss against Indiana Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Suburban Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-28 victory against Valley Christian Academy on the 30th.
