Taunton waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Barnstable Red Hawks. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Red Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Taunton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-18.

Travis Johnson paced Taunton's offense, picking up 19 kills. Johnson got some help from Daniel Freitas and his 32 assists. Syre Duverna controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Taunton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Barnstable, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Taunton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against King Philip Regional on the 1st. As for Barnstable, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Greater Lawrence Tech on the 2nd.
