Baseball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Roxana Shells

The Jersey Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Roxana Shells at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Jersey was able to grind out a solid victory over Staunton, taking the game 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Roxana had just enough and edged out Freeburg 5-4 on Thursday. The Shells haven't had any issues with the Midgets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Roxana let Trevor Gihring and Mason Crump run wild. Gihring went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Crump went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Gihring has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kael Hester, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Roxana's victory bumped their record up to 18-7-1. As for Jersey, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.

Jersey skirted past Roxana 5-4 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
