Baseball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West Takes a Loss

Seymour hit Morristown-Hamblen West with a six-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-2. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Thursday.

Morristown-Hamblen West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Shepard, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Morristown-Hamblen West and nudges their season record down to 14-10-1. As for Seymour, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morristown-Hamblen West will head out to challenge Morristown-Hamblen East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Hurricanes at the right time seeing as the Hurricanes are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Seymour, they will head out on the road to square off against Heritage at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mountaineers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
