Softball Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Berthoud Spartans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Conifer had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Berthoud Spartans. Conifer's win was all the more impressive since the Spartans were averaging only 2.73 runs allowed on the season.
Finley Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Siena Shields, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Conifer lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berthoud didn't launched any.
Conifer is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. As for Berthoud, they moved to 23-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Conifer nor Berthoud have any future games scheduled.
