Whitney Griffin was a major factor in Surry County's victory over Franklin on Thursday. Griffin did her part (and then some), striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk) for the 'W'. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

Looking ahead, Griffin and Surry County will square off against Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't beaten the Dukes recently, having gone 0-10 since April of 2018.
