Michigan Center dropped their record down to 8-18-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 17-1 to the Springport Spartans. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cardinals couldn't push the score so high this time.

Michigan Center saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Sober, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

As for Springport, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3. Considering they have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Springport's side, Drew Sanford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Sanford has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marshall Shoemaker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Gavin Lightner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Springport beat Michigan Center by a score of 12-9 later that day.
