Basketball Recap: Benton Central Comes Up Short

Benton Central was the 65-52 winner over McCutcheon when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Benton Central Bison had to suffer through a 72-41 loss at the hands of the McCutcheon Mavericks. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Mavericks are ranked 113th).

This is the second loss in a row for Benton Central and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for McCutcheon, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Benton Central will head out on the road to face off against Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McCutcheon, they will challenge Kankakee Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
