Bulldogs gain a verbal commitment from one of North Carolina's top recruits.

Todd Gurley, one of the nation's top uncommitted tailbacks, made a verbal pledge to Georgia today, in an announcement made at his school.

Gurley chose the Bulldogs over Clemson, North Carolina State and North Carolina.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Gurley helped Tarboro (N.C.) to a Class 2A state final by rushing for more than 2,300 yards and 38 touchdowns.

Over the past month, his stock has skyrocketed thanks largely to an outstanding performance at the Shrine Bowl in which he rushed for 119 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Gurley joins highly-touted running back Keith Marshall as part of Georgia's 2012 recruiting class, giving head coach Mark Richt two dynamic threats at the running back position.

With Gurley off the board, uncommitted running back Mike Davis, who was previously committed to Florida, now could land at Clemson or South Carolina. Tennessee is also a possibility.
