Volleyball Recap: Splendora Takes a Loss

Splendora suffered their biggest defeat since November 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Port Neches-Groves Indians. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

While Splendora was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Port Neches-Groves' winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-21.

Splendora has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Port Neches-Groves, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Splendora will square off against College Station at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Port Neches-Groves, they will challenge Kelly Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
