Recap: Quitman Panthers vs. Forest Bearcats
The Quitman Panthers entered their tilt with the Forest Bearcats with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Quitman came out on top against Forest by a score of 41-30 on Thursday. Given Quitman's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Forest is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
KIARRA THOMPSON was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AUDRIANA HARRIS, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Quitman is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
Quitman won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Morton at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Morton will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Quitman surely won't give up without a fight. Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
