Granville is 8-2 against Heath since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blue Aces will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Granville will be strutting in after a victory while Heath will be coming in after a loss.
Granville needed a changed in momentum after dropping six straight matches and they got it from Ady Sims. The Blue Aces came out on top against Mt. Vernon by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from Sims, who had 28 digs and five aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.
Granville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-21, 25-12, 25-17.

Granville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Gulledge, who had 14 assists and four digs. Gulledge is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mylee King also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Meanwhile, Heath suffered their biggest defeat since August 23rd on Thursday. They came up short against Newark Catholic, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Bulldogs couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-9, 25-15.
Heath's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Granville, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Granville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Heath struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Granville came out on top in a nail-biter against Heath when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Aces since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
