Softball Recap: Cathedral Catholic's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Cathedral Catholic dropped their record down to 16-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Christian Patriots. The Dons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Ellie Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Feldman, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6-1 record this season. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

On Christian's side, Alyssa McCurty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. McCurty has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Tyler Krystek was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
