Softball Recap: Albemarle Comes Up Short

Albemarle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-0 to the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 last Thursday.

Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for South Stanly, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Albemarle will challenge Gray Stone Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for South Stanly, they will square off against Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something the Rowdy Rebel Bulls surely won't give up without a fight.
