Softball Recap: Polk County Slammers vs. Centura Centurions

Polk County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Centura Centurions as they made off with a 9-3 win. The Slammers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Adrienne Waller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in six consecutive pitching appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lindee Kelley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Rutherford, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
