Softball Game Preview: North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays vs. Pioneer Panthers

North Judson-San Pierre hasn't had much luck against Pioneer recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bluejays will host the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Judson-San Pierre fell victim to Culver Community and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bluejays' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Pioneer didn't have quite enough to beat West Central on Thursday and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one run.

Katelynn Haynes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Madyson Shaffer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Fisher, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Pioneer's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10. As for North Judson-San Pierre, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
