Softball Recap: Lamar Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lamar proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Crestwood Knights 8-7. The victory was nothing new for the Silver Fox as they're now sitting on four straight.

Isabella Hayes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Lamar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Lamar's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Crestwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lamar and Crestwood will both be playing Lee Academy the next time they take the field. The Knights will head out to face the Cavaliers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Silver Fox will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
