Baseball Recap: Timber Creek Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Timber Creek's offense. They fell just short of the Byron Nelson Bobcat by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcat earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Gunner Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since March 1st.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Byron Nelson, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-4-1 record.

Looking ahead, Timber Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Timber Creek 2.3, Trinity 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Byron Nelson, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on April 11.
