Volleyball Recap: South Lake Eagles vs. Lake Minneola Hawks
After flying high against Tavares on Monday, South Lake came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Lake Minneola Hawks on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16, 25-20.
Emily Caldwell paced South Lake's offense, picking up six kills. Caldwell were helped by Iris Trowbridge and Makiah Palacio, who contributed seven assists each. Kassidy Layne controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Lake Minneola can attribute much of their success to Viktorya Odrzywolski, who had 15 assists and three digs.
South Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Lake Minneola, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Looking ahead, South Lake will welcome Montverde Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Minneola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
