Basketball Game Preview: Hawthorne Cougars vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs

Having just played yesterday, the Hawthorne Cougars will jump right back in to play the Mark Keppel Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hawthorne saw some tournament action on Friday. They were outmatched by Canyon and fell 108-45. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 683rd, while the Cowboys are ranked 95th).

Meanwhile, Mark Keppel suffered their closest defeat since November 25, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Burbank by a score of 58-55.

Mark Keppel's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Hawthorne, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
