Basketball Recap: Bunker Hill Takes a Loss

Bunker Hill lost against North Iredell back in November of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bunker Hill Bears were dealt a 76-38 loss at the hands of the North Iredell Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 378th, while the Raiders are ranked 131st).

Despite the defeat, Bunker Hill had strong showings from Rachel Beck, who posted 11 points and eight boards, and Megan Starnes, who put up five points and eight rebounds. Beck is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played.

Bunker Hill dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Iredell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Bunker Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-36 defeat against South Iredell on the 10th. As for North Iredell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-48 loss against East Surry on the 10th.
