Basketball Game Preview: Germantown Red Devils vs. Arlington Tigers

Germantown is 0-10 against Arlington since November of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Germantown Red Devils will face off against the Arlington Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Germantown is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 60-8 loss at the hands of Bartlett. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Panthers are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, everything went Arlington's way against Cordova on Friday as Arlington made off with a 64-41 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Germantown better keep an eye on Zaria Moss. She was instrumental in Arlington's win, almost dropping a double-double with 29 points and nine steals. Moss is becoming a predictor of Arlington's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 8-4 (and 3-9 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jordan Wirt, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 11-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Germantown lost to Arlington on the road by a decisive 62-43 margin when the teams last played on Tuesday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moss, who went 10-for-14 to rack up 21 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
