League recap: Stowell overpowering for Frazier Mountain in past week

High Desert league recap: 5/30/13

High Desert's top pitcher this week was Frazier Mountain's Robbie Stowell. He won one game and struck out eight batters.

The Falcons currently sit at the top of the league with a mark of 20-9 overall and 10-0 in league play. Kern Valley is in second place, 4 games behind with a 6-4 record in league play.

Frazier Mountain's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Broncs struck out a league-leading 46 times over the past week. Kern Valley has struggled at the plate this season, leading the league with 195 strikeouts.

Three batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Andrew Penner, who hit .750 this week (3-for-4).



The week's strikeout crown belonged to Stowell, who turned in eight Ks for the Falcons. He's second in the league with 124 total strikeouts.
