Basketball Recap: Pacific Comes Up Short

Pacific was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 77-55 to the Miller Rebels. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pacific lost, don't look at Maurice Fitzgerald. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Fitzgerald a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Francisco Garcia, who posted 20 points.

Pacific's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Miller, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.

Pacific wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-17 loss against Indian Springs on the 16th. Miller has also already played their next matchup, a 55-35 victory against Arroyo Valley on the 16th.
