Basketball Game Preview: Mooresville Pioneers vs. Lawrence North Wildcats

The Mooresville Pioneers will face off against the Lawrence North Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mooresville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Lawrence North likes a good challenge.

Mooresville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They secured a 57-51 W over Franklin Central.

Mooresville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrone Elmore, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brevon Burns, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Lawrence North waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 74-59. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Panthers are ranked 50th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mooresville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. Lawrence North's win bumped their record up to 22-6.
