Troy and Athens are an even 3-3 against one another since June of 2015, but likely not for long. The Colts will welcome the Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Troy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Troy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Avondale on Tuesday as they made off with a 28-9 victory. Considering the Colts have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Athens didn't have quite enough to beat Lutheran North on Thursday and fell 4-3.

Leah Dahlerup was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Troy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Troy suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to Athens in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
