Soccer Game Preview: Columbus vs. Winneconne

The Columbus Cardinals will take on the Winneconne Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Columbus is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Waupun on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Columbus' goal came courtesy of Finnegan Denewellis, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Winneconne hadn't done well against Waupaca recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Wolves never let the Comets get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That's two games straight that Winneconne have won by exactly two goals.

The win made it two in a row for Winneconne and bumps their season record up to 5-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two matchups. Columbus' draw gives them a new season record of 6-8-1.
