Football Game Preview: Homewood Patriots vs. Gardendale Rockets + How To Watch

The Homewood Patriots will head out to square off against the Gardendale Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Homewood has six straight wins, Gardendale has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Homewood needed a bit of extra time to put away Mountain Brook. They had just enough and edged out the Spartans 27-25.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb Carson, who rushed for 105 yards and one score, and also threw for 219 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (151 yards to be exact) went to Tomon Felton, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, Gardendale played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Central. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Homewood's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Gardendale, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Homewood strolled past Gardendale in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 23-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
