Basketball Recap: Wickliffe Takes Down Garfield in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wickliffe walked away with it. They skirted past the Garfield G-Men 39-36. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 52-32 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Garfield still got an impressive performance from Mandy Cardinal, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cardinal is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kylene Mcmayon, who posted six points and six boards.

Wickliffe now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Garfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, Wickliffe will challenge Norwayne at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norwayne will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Wickliffe surely won't give up without a fight. Garfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
