Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Evie Naville and Eva Casteel Lead Floyd Central to Victory

While Floyd Central's win against DuPont Manual wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Highlanders had just enough and edged out the Crimsons 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Highlanders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Floyd Central wouldn't go down easily and took DuPont Manual into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Leading Floyd Central to victory were Eva Casteel and Evie Naville. Casteel had 15 digs and four aces, while Naville had 11 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Naville a new career-high in assists (two).

They weren't the only good server: Floyd Central was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.

Floyd Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for DuPont Manual, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.

Floyd Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Brownstown Central on the 28th. As for DuPont Manual, they will venture away from home to face off against Presentation at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
