Baseball Game Preview: St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders vs. Spring Lake Park Panthers

The St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders will take on the Spring Lake Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Cloud Cathedral comes in on four and Spring Lake Park on six.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither St. Cloud Cathedral nor Providence Academy made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Crusaders never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

The result came thanks to Henry Schloe's shutout, as he gave up just a hit.

On the hitting side, St. Cloud Cathedral saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Oliver, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Owen Fradette was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Spring Lake Park hadn't done well against Irondale recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Knights 10-9.

The team relied heavily on Colin Welch, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Sellman, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

St. Cloud Cathedral's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Spring Lake Park, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
