Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Humboldt won the last time they faced Waverly and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cubs won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1.

Humboldt had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-19, 25-16.

Humboldt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bailey Daniels out in front who had 14 digs and two aces. What's more, Daniels posted four kills, the most she's had over her last two contests. Skylar Hottenstein was another key player, getting 15 digs and four assists.

Humboldt is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Waverly, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-2.

Looking ahead, Humboldt will welcome Yates Center at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. Waverly will be paying especially close attention to the Cubs' game: after the Cubs face off against Southern Coffey County, they'll take on Waverly again on Saturday.
