Football Recap: Cathedral Prep Starts Season with Victory Against Erie + How To Watch

Cathedral Prep took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They secured a 29-23 W over the Erie Royals. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ramblers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

DaZarie Carson had a dynamite game, rushing for 184 yards and four touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cathedral Prep was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Cathedral Prep's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dominic Panighetti.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cathedral Prep will host Sharon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
