Softball Game Preview: Kingsley Stags vs. Charlevoix Rayders

The Kingsley Stags will square off against the Charlevoix Rayders at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Kingsley's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Charlevoix has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Kingsley got the win against Glen Lake by a conclusive 14-6. The Stags might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Kingsley got a massive performance out of Annie Strange, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Strange a new career-high. Adelynn Town was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Kingsley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Charlevoix scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Kalkaska, falling 24-4.

Charlevoix's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Kingsley, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Kingsley got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Charlevoix by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Stags repeat their success, or do the Rayders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
