Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Carmel). They blew past the Escondido Cougars 12-1 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Naya Leuck and Chloe Millard were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Leuck tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Millard pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Leuck scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Millard scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those three hits gave Leuck a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jordan Grimaud was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Codner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Coming up, Mt. Carmel is taking a road trip to challenge Mission Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Escondido, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westview at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
