Basketball Game Preview: Maurepas Wolves vs. Jehovah-Jireh Warriors

The Maurepas Wolves will take on the Jehovah-Jireh Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Maurepas came up short against Family Christian and fell 54-41. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Flames are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Jehovah-Jireh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-37 heartbreaker at the hands of Collegiate.

Jehovah-Jireh's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Maurepas, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-16.

Everything came up roses for Maurepas against Jehovah-Jireh in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maurepas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
