Softball Recap: Buckeye Takes a Loss

Buckeye extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 13-9 in the process. They lost 10-2 to the Canyon View Jaguars. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Buckeye saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleila Kaluna, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

As for Canyon View, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matches by six runs or more this season.

On Canyon View's side, Makenzie Jones was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Samantha Galindo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Canyon View beat Buckeye by a score of 8-0 on Thursday.
