Baseball Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. South Miami Cobras

The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will venture away from home to square off against the South Miami Cobras at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Hialeah's offense. They lost 6-0 to Somerset Academy on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Thoroughbreds' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hialeah saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamari Small, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double was Small's first of the season.

Meanwhile, South Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Archbishop Carroll.

Hialeah's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for South Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9-1.

Hialeah took their win against South Miami when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thoroughbreds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
