Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mt. Rainier). Their defense stepped up to hand the Auburn Trojans a 5-0 shutout on Friday. Mt. Rainier's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.

Mt. Rainier is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Auburn, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mt. Rainier will square off against rival Tahoma at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Auburn is set to face off against their familiar foe Kentridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
