Central York is 8-2 against Red Lion since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Panthers will square off against the Lions at 4:15 p.m. Central York is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Central York needed a bit of extra time to put away Mechanicsburg. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 3-2.

Elizabeth Ferrell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Central York saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Lamer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Brooklyn Shaffer was another, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lamer wasn't the only one making solid contact: Central York kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Red Lion). Everything went their way against Northeastern on Wednesday as they made off with a 22-3 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lions with their most commanding win of the season.

Central York pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Red Lion, their record now sits at 6-3.

Central York took their win against Red Lion when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
