Baseball Recap: Foley Finds Home Field Redemption Against Montgomery Academy

There's no place like home for Foley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Montgomery Academy Eagles 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since February 22nd.

Foley let Gavin Glass and Lukus Bryant run wild. Glass scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4, while Bryant went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Bryant a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of William Quarles, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Foley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 11-2 record.

Coming up, Foley will take on Mobile Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Montgomery Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Reeltown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
