Baseball Recap: Hesston Takes Down Minneapolis in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Hesston rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They never let the Minneapolis Lions get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Swathers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Andrew Huxman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Huxman was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hesston got a big performance out of Blayne Wilson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Wilson has become a key player for the Swathers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Levi Flaming was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Hesston's record is now 14-7. As for Minneapolis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Hesston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Halstead on the 19th. Minneapolis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
