Football Recap: Hebron Christian Piles Up the Points Against Stephens County + How To Watch

Hebron Christian came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 51-24 victory over the Stephens County Indians. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Indians are ranked 171st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hebron Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devon Caldwell, who rushed for 238 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Caldwell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. Jarvis Mathurin was in the mix as well, providing Hebron Christian with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hebron Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive matchups.

Hebron Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Holden Meers, Masen Hardy, and Jai'Lil Goley picked up one apiece.

Hebron Christian's record is now 6-1. As for Stephens County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Hebron Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 47-0 win against Franklin County on the 24th. As for Stephens County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-10 victory against Hart County on the 24th.
