Basketball Recap: New Manna Christian Gets the Win

On Friday, the New Manna Christian Wind were able to grind out a solid victory over the Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors, taking the game 62-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wind.

New Manna Christian had a senior duo take command as Blade Baker went 8 of 15 on his way to 24 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals and Micah Wagner almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jace Walker, who posted seven points and four steals.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Levi Gaskins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards. What's more, Gaskins also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Landon Hudson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

New Manna Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

New Manna Christian has already played their next game, a 68-35 victory against Victory Christian Academy on the 23rd. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-62 win against Vandalia Christian on the 23rd.
