Great Crossing is on a 21-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Cathedral is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Great Crossing's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malachi Moreno, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards. The matchup was Moreno's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Vince Dawson, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds.
Great Crossing smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cathedral's game on Saturday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Carmel out 51-48. The 51-point effort marked the Fighting Irish's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Great Crossing better keep an eye on Brady Koehler. He was instrumental in Cathedral's win, putting up 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Aldridge, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.
Great Crossing is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points per game. As for Cathedral, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
